It’s the fixture that matters!
Having the right fixture is just as important as choosing the right product. What distinguishes brand products is that they include certified, multipurpose fixtures. Exceptions to this are specified in the respective fitting instructions.

What do I do if the base is poor?
The Criminal Investigation Department has devised a specific standard for upgrading by fitting security devices, DIN 18104-1. This standard also governs fixture technology.

Extract from DIN 18104-1:
‘If the fixture conditions are poor (soft or hollow or foam base and plastic window with or without metal inlay and wooden window) and/or it is easy to attack from outside, more security devices and extra fixtures (composite mortar or all-through screw fitting or fixing bolts ought to be used). There should be at least one lockable security device for each door or window. If the frames themselves are too weak, it may be necessary for instance to reinforce the frame prior when upgrading security.

IM 100 consists of a metal mesh and a screw-on bolt with screw. Composite mortar (available in stores) is inserted through the mesh into the synthetic profile, the bolt inserted and the ABUS window product screwed on.
Once the mortar has set, this stable brace is capable of withstanding maximum strain.

The PV 1820 all-through screw fitting is a fixing set for reinforced bolt locks on fixed door elements, thin and unstable walls. The lock casing can be fixed anywhere by means of adjustable screw distances. All external parts are hardened. The hardened steel plate is covered on the outside with an aesthetically pleasing cover.

The BA cross brace is inserted into the wall through the frame profile (wood or PVC). Can also be used with double casement windows in the cross bar. A screw attached to the fixing bolt is rendered stable in the cross brace after pre-drilling by cutting its own thread
